Thank you for choosing to set up your fundraising with MuslimGiving.org – an online fundraising platform.  When setting up a fundraising page for any of the charities and their campaigns that are available on our platform, we have produced a list of good practices.

  • If you are setting up a fundraising page that is not connected to an existing campaign for your chosen charity, we advise you to contact the charity to let them know of your intentions to raise funds on their behalf and where you would like the funds to be spent.

  • Remember to let your donors know on your fundraising story where the funds raised by you will be used. This can include the campaign name and specifics.

  • It is good practice for fundraisers to add a personal message to their potential donors when sharing your fundraising page with them.

  • In the rare occasion, if the original purpose for which donations were requested changes, the charity will notify donors with the option to have their donation either put forward to a similar cause.

  • In the instance the funds raised are lower than the target amount, the charity will still use the amount raised towards the chosen campaign.

  • In the instance the funds raised are higher than the target amount, the charity may either use the higher amount towards providing additional aid than initially stated for the specific campaign or they can choose to hold excess funds to help other causes.
